Habitat Management At Bostick Plantation
Bostick Plantation has been intensely managed with the best interest of wildlife in mind for more than 30 years. Our more than 10,000 acres are comprised of a mixture of corn fields, soybean fields, food plots, cypress swamp bottoms, oak flats, planted pines and oak ridges. Combining this unique mixture of habitat with the most modern wildlife management techniques, has made Bostick Plantation one of the most game-rich properties in the southeastern United States.
Bostick Plantation's management techniques are state-of-the-art. Hundreds of acres planted in corn and soybeans guarantee plenty of food for all of the wildlife of the Plantation. In areas not under general farming, we plant peas, rye and wheat. We make sure that there is always enough food on the Plantation to not only support our wildlife population, but to also attract wildlife from the properties that adjoin the Plantation.
Bostick Plantation's staff works very closely with the DNR and private wildlife biologists to maintain a healthy population of all wildlife within the boundaries of the Plantation. We also make sure that our habitat is managed to support all of the various species of wildlife on the Plantation. There are no fences on the Plantation and all wildlife is free roaming. On your hunt at Bostick Plantation you are likely to see Whitetail Deer, Eastern Wild Turkey, Wild Russian Boar, Bobwhite Quail, Fox, Bobcat, Coyote, Possum, Raccoon, Armadillo, Beaver, Southern Fox Squirrel, and even Alligator. You may even see some animals that you not sure what they are. As a matter of fact, we have a picture of a Black Bear that was killed on the Plantation several years ago, when Bear hunting was allowed here. Our wildlife management practices have made this Plantation even more bountiful with wildlife than it was when the early settlers arrived.
